Obverse: Depicts the definitive effigy of  Queen Elizabeth II (whose reign was from February 1952 until September 2022).

Reverse: Features a classic design of the rendition of St. George mounted on horseback slaying a dragon, designed by Benedetto Pistrucci.

Sovereign coins are backed by the British government and have an interesting history rooted in 1817 as part of the Great Recoinage.  In fact it was reborn in 1817, a couple of years after Napoleon's and his Grand Army were defeated at Waterloo.   Prior to that there was an English Gold Sovereign coin in use from 1489 until 1603.

1968 Mexico 25 Pesos Silver Coin

 Here we'll take a look at a Mexico 1968 25 Pesos silver coin.   On the obverse or front side seen in the picture above we see an native dancing with the Olympic rings below.  This 72 percent silver coin celebrates the Summer Olympics which were held in Mexico City in October of 1968.  A Latin American country had not previously hosted the games.  Bob Beamon set a record long jumping 8.9 meters or 29.2 feet and George Forman win gold in boxing and not long after goes pro. The reverse side has the Mexican Coat of Arms with the eagle biting the snake.  This coin is available for purchase here .

 In this post we see a Canada 10 Cents Special Delivery Stamp SC E7.  It is Used.   Canadian Special Delivery postage when put together with standard postage was used to speed up delivery of mail. They had a long run being issued 1898 until 1946.  In the center of the stamp appears to have an image of the the Coat of Arms of Canada  with it's country and service above. This stamp is available as part of the follow stamp lot for sale that includes back of book .
