Constantine II was the son of Constantine the Great.  After his father died in the year 337 AD he shared the Roman Empire with his 2 brothers.  Constantine II took control over Hispania (Spain), Britannia (Britain) and Gaul (France) and was considered the highest rank of the 3 brothers at first.  He had a strained relationship with this brother Constans who had power over the Italia (Italy) part of the empire.  Constans decided to stop recognizing his older brother as the most senior Augustus. Constantine II decided he had it with this brother and that he should control Italia and therefore invaded.  His army was defeated by this brother's and he died in battle in year 340.
